Closure Of The Signals Museum In 2024

For some time now, the Signals Museum at RAF Henlow has been under notice of closure as RAF Henlow itself is closing and will be sold off. We therefore have to make arrangements to wind up our Museum and have presented a plan to the management team at Henlow to ensure the timeline scales can be supported by all concerned.

Our plan is to stay open to the public until the final Open Day in early June 2024, following which all exhibits will be cleared and the building vacated. This must happen by the end of June 2024. Exhibits will be returned to those who have kindly loaned them to us, donated to other collections, museums or sold off. Any that are sold will raise money for selected charities, to be agreed with the station commander.
Also becoming available will be components, cables (including unused on drums), reference books, old Air Publications and possibly some uniforms. As the museum is closing everything must go and to that end enquiries are welcome from museums, radio clubs, WW2 re-enactment groups etc for re-homing these items.
To register an interest please send an e-mail to Researcher@SignalsMuseum.uk with the subject line of "Register an interest"

We hope to have an easy close down and some generous customers/collectors who would help us to do this. We can then walk away and retire from a voluntary job we have been doing and loved to do, since 1999, 24 years!

Photographs of our exhibits for disposal are here.
